FEATURE: The SPY x FAMILY Jealousy Episode

The SPY x FAMILY anime Season 1 Episode 21 is discussed in the following article.

One of my favourite comfort anime of the year is SPY x FAMILY, which is still going strong. I like seeing the Forgers every week because of their funny antics and sense of family that they have developed. The main pull of the programme is Loid/connection Twilight’s with his “fake” family and the fact that he is plainly having emotions for Yor and Anya, despite how crucial it is for him to maintain the peace between Westalis and Ostania.

Loid and Yor Forger of SPY x FAMILY become excellent spies and better parents

On occasion, the programme may impart valuable lessons that, to be honest, make me appreciate the characters even more than I already do. One current instance is when Yor finally had a good lunch because she remembers the cuisine that made her and her brother, Yuri, feel better. Yor has always been the kind of person who put others’ needs above her own, even if it means returning home a bit bloodied (it’s better not to ask questions). I already knew that she cared passionately about her family (both Yuri and the Forgers), and this moment confirms my suspicion that she does. In a same scene, Loid must contend with envy from many perspectives in Episode 21. It’s one thing to deal with a disgruntled agent, but what about an irate dog? Loid isn’t quite prepared for that obstacle, like a lot of other things in SPY x FAMILY, which makes his answer all the more charming.

The Frosty Tension

The Frosty Tension

Introducing Fiona Frost, alias Nightfall. She pretends to be Loid’s colleague at Berlint General Hospital while really working as an undercover agent alongside him. When I initially met her, I thought, “Oh crap, she’s nice,” but when she insulted my buddy Yor, I decided that our friendship was over.

I still think Fiona is awesome, okay.

Which Anya Face from SPY x FAMILY Is the Best for You? [UPDATED]

Fiona loves Twilight, to my my (and Anya’s) surprise—heart emoji, exclamation point. She wants to take Yor’s place as his wife because she believes she would carry out Twilight’s purpose more effectively. She’s probably correct, to be fair.

She's probably correct, to be fair.

Running around the rooftops to make sure Anya had her exercise gear would not be Fiona’s top priority and instead, she would be more focused on Operation Strix. If she were Mrs. Forger, the assignment would be finished much more quickly in her opinion. Her actual acquisition of her way of thinking from Twilight is what makes it so fascinating. She was groomed by him, therefore in reality, she is simply adopting his attitude of burying her emotions. But here’s the deal. Not what Twilight need.

How Well Do You Know the SPY x FAMILY Forgers? Related Section One: Loid

That’s something that Twilight would never, ever say, at least not yet. He still has times when he convinces himself that this family dynamic won’t matter since they will all split up when the task is complete. Fiona supports this viewpoint and even charges Twilight with losing his edge after “playing house” for so long.

But because this is SPY x FAMILY, the series takes great pleasure in pointing out how important the word “family” is.

A Penguin’s Honorable Injuries

After the credits, the episode’s second section, which is more lighterhearted and deals with the same subject as Fiona, is about envy. It’s Anya, Agent Penguinman (first seen in Episode 12), and Bond, not two agents attempting to hold back their emotions until the battle stops.

Anya wants to spend the night with the enormous penguin Loid bought her at the aquarium after a particularly heartbreaking scene in the cartoon she is watching, at least in a child’s perspective. Bond tears up the plush because he’s offended that the toy has taken his place. Bond, unlike Fiona, is not trained to “keep back your emotions,” therefore he decided to resolve the situation on his own.

SPY x FAMILY’s second opening is excellent. RELATED

Anya is devastated by this and expresses her disdain for Bond, crushing the heart of the poor floof.

At first, Loid decides to get a new penguin as a remedy. It is the most sensible response. Anya wants THIS penguin, therefore this isn’t good enough. Why? because her grandpa obtained it on her behalf. Also, Loid, you can’t simply replace a cuddly companion with a new one! Not after the good moments you’ve had together!

A Penguin’s Honorable Injuries

After Yor attempts to fix the bird but fails, Loid stitches it up and finds himself suddenly forced to explain why the penguin seems to be seriously hurt. Anya is instantly amazed when he explains that “S-scars are awards of courage for troops.”

In an effort to mediate between an embarrassed Bond and Anya, Loid argues that scars are nothing to be ashamed of. Despite being upset by Bond’s actions, the girl strikes a ceasefire and accepts his apology when he brings her peanuts. Loid laughs as he observes Bond and the hurt Pengie shaking on it and wishes that things were that simple for the East and West.

That expression and that grin show just how much Loid depends on the Forgers.

Similar to SPY x FAMILY, These Anime Series Appreciate the Importance of Found Family

Fiona said earlier in the episode that Loid faked his grins around Yor and Anya, but scenes like these demonstrate how incorrect she was. It seems as if Loid is speaking from personal experience in many instances, as if he is placing himself in the scenario to express his true sentiments. It makes me go back to how he extolled Yor’s career in the second episode when her colleague mentioned that she could be engaged in questionable activities, or how he wanted to raise Anya as his own daughter after learning how often she had been returned to the orphanage.

For the mission’s sake, he could choose better paths; in fact, one of them is already in front of him with Fiona Frost. He is unaware that he has subconsciously selected Anya and Yor as the alternatives he feels most drawn to. While he is aware of the need of maintaining the peace, he is unaware that by bringing these two into his life, he has created a peaceful environment for himself.

While working for a better life for everyone, it’s necessary to protect everyone, but there’s nothing wrong with carving out your own space in the process. Although Loid claims it’s not so simple with the East and West, his own house is really rather straightforward.
