One Piece Episode 1045 Review and rating

One Piece Episode 1045

With episode 1045, One Piece keeps up its winning trend by delivering more intense action and tragic sequences. The only disappointment in this situation is what wasn’t given, but that was to be anticipated.

This episode is mostly composed of evil speeches. Momentum turns around as we concentrate on Hawking, Big Mom, King, and Queen after Nico Robin’s resounding victory against Black Maria. With our heroes either grovelling, moaning, or battling for their life, there are many mwahaha-laughs set against blazing backdrops. Onigashima is home to far too many formidable opponents for things to come to a conclusion so quickly.

In particular, Big Mom enjoys bragging about the smaller pirates that came before her. No amount of pectoral mass can keep you safe when Big Mom attends the party, despite the fact that Eustass and Killer both saw massive chest-size glow-ups after the time skip.

However, the heroes, particularly Raizo and Sanji, also had an opportunity to shine. Raizo is an oddball; he’s not the Red Scabbard I like the least, but he’s also not the most interesting either. Raizo’s greatest distinguishing characteristics are those that draw attention to him: he has NBA JAM Big Head syndrome and is a ninja, both of which are unusual for Wano or One Piece in general (also strangely uncommon in the proportion-defying-world of One Piece). Sadly, apart from when he first appeared in Zou, I never really thought he stood out from the other Red Scabbards. The Toei team’s ability to make such a ludicrous character design work in a serious dramatic moment is shown by the fact that it is pleasant to hear him issue his great call to action and get some visual shine.

It’s fantastic to watch Sanji in action and to see him thrive as well. Despite the fact that I have many reservations about him. When I get to see him in action, it’s always a visual pleasure, and the fight with Queen is no exception. Hats go to Toei for bringing this combat to life with such excellent flow and pace on show. I wish there were more since it’s so vivid and energising.

The last sequence with Cat-Viper and Perospero is also noteworthy. This sequence is not only beautiful and smooth, with almost unbelievable attention to detail in Persopero’s facial characteristics. But it also has some really intriguing visual components. I can’t recall how often I’ve seen an animated archery POV shot like this. Much less on a regular basis on television. When Cat-Viper lunges in to strike, his face stretches out like a cartoon character, which is pure joy in action.

The only drawback to this week is that it comes after more expensive Nico Robin material and is thus inferior. But I don’t think it’s a fair judgement to make.
